I guess the longer you make your game the more money you need to pay it off and so price also should be bigger. I don't see the logic between DRG's developing time and it's price. This is completely incorrect way of thinking. What was originally a gift is now being expected. Every copy of DRG sold at MSRP helped you guys afford to play the game, so without that it wouldn't be possible.) So if you want to think about the logic here, it's because DRG allows us to pay off some of your guy's copies in different regions because we understand that you guys have a lower overall cost of living. It's only $11 USD with the sale and $30 USD for the Riftbreaker bundle. No sense in expecting the same quality and polish and comparison to a bigger studio that has publisher backing in the form of Coffee Stain Studios.ĭRG also had significantly more time in the oven. But in this particular case, not only does it not honor the fair price, but in fact the price for the game is set higher than the bank exchange rate ( P1000 instead of ~ P850). Now, *normally*, Steam would recognize that and offer a game for the "fair" price (which is what it does for Deep Rock). By that logic, a fair price for the game in Russia would be around P280.00 So in the US, the price of the game ($10.00) is roughly 2 'Macs. The price of a Big Mac in the US is ~$4.89. This phenomenon is the reason why PPP (purchasing power parity) and "Big Mac index" were invented.īig Mac index is probably the easiest way to explain it. However, the exchange rate of RUB/USD is 82.00. in Russia, RUB 23.00 buys you roughly the same amount of stuff, as USD 1.00 in the US. As already stated by another user, some countries' currencies are "undervalued", that is, the currency is worth less in dollars, than the actual amount of items/services that can be purchased for it (for reasons we won't get into here, and it has *nothing* to do with "sanctions").
